Piano Player Making the Big Switch

Ive been keys playing for over a decade and like to think I’m pretty good. This quarantine encouraged me to try something new so I bought a used Epiphone LP100 to start learning.

Whats a good way to start. I need absolutely no help in the strum pattern department, but have found barre chords to be a nightmare. Also tab makes sense to me in theory, but when I pull something up I kind of freeze because I’m used to coming at songs with chords and instinctively embellishing with scales, inversions, bass rhythm etc on piano.

Any tips for an already knowledgeable musician appreciated.
