Proper way to do pinch harmonics?

I’ve seen so many youtube videos and used so many techniques but i just can’t get a good sound. What method do you guys use? When i do a get a good sound, it takes forever to position my thumb perfectly so it creates harmonics. I don’t see how people do it so fast.
