In this Sympathy For The Devil guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of the chords to this classic by The Rolling Stones as well as Keith Richard's instantly recognizable guitar solo note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
Since most of "Sympathy For The Devil" is performed on piano, the chords that you will learn will be an arrangement of the piano chords. I have tried to recreate the piano chords in the most authentic way possible, so that means that the chord progressions might not be the easiest thing to play, especially during the chorus.
However, besides the piano version of the arrangement, I will also show you a more simplified way of playing the chorus that is probably the way you will see most guitarists perform it. But give the first version a try as well since it is more faithful to the original piano parts played during the song and sounds MUCH better.
I will also cover Keith Richard's iconic guitar solo note-for-note. It is a pretty simple solo to play for any intermediate level player.
I will also talk about the outro solo briefly and demonstrate the scale forms he is using. But I won't be going through that one note-for-note.
Have fun with this classic tune!
