Soloing idea with moving fifths

Tuesday Tip #01

Video: https://www.instagram.com/p/CIibXWenK_2/

Key: E major

Tip: Start on the root note and add the 5th on the next string. Then move this fifth interval up on the neck. You can use a sixth instead of the fifth at some places.

Extra tip: Slide up at the first note and slide down at the second note, to add extra movement.

Takeaway: This method works in any minor or major keys. The perfect fifth (or minor/major sixth) interval opens up any melody or you can use this phrase as a transition between two melodic segments.
