Play With Me Guitar Lesson – Extreme

In this Play With Me guitar lesson, I will show you how to play all of Nuno Bettencourt's insane guitar parts for this well loved song by Extreme.

The tuning is Eb standard tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.

Well we certainly have our work cut out for us with this one. "Play With Me" became very popular after it's inclusion in the Guitar Hero video game series. It is the final song in the game, proving that this is a song for only the bravest of guitar players.

I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording. From the opening lick based off of Mozart's "Alla Turca", throughout all of the hyperspeed blues based riffs to Nuno's otherworldy solo, it is all here. That is also why this video lesson clocks in at over an hour in length!

Nuno has been one of my favorite players since I was a teenager, so it is great to finally do a note-for-note tutorial on one of his greatest achievements.

Have fun, but don't hurt yourself! Carl...

Shame Shame Guitar Lesson – Foo Fighters

In this Shame Shame guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this hit song from the Foo Fighters in it's entirety.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

This is a pretty easy one from the Foo Fighters. Most of their songs are very involved on the guitar front, with lots of layers divided amongst the band.

However, in "Shame Shame", things are stripped down to a couple of basic riffs.

I will cover each riff and any variations in the order that each appears on the original recording.

Have fun with this laid back song from the Foo Fighters! Carl...

Head Over Heels Guitar Lesson – Tears For Fears

In this Head Over Heels guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song by Tears For Fears off of their Songs From The Big Chair album.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

I have arranged this lesson to be best played by two acoustic guitarists. I will still be teaching the electric guitar melodies, albeit on acoustic guitar, but I think the song is best served with two guitar players to recreate all the musical layers of the song.

There are so many layers to the instrumentation on the original recording. Much of that is done with a synth. However, I think it works quite well on the guitar. You can play a single guitar arrangement by just choosing the part that you like most at any given time.

I will go through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.

I have also transcribed the keyboard solo for guitar. This works quite well and is pretty easy to play!

Have fun learning this great classic from the greatest decade in music history!

Where to begin when my goal is to play Mexican music like Ariel Camacho

I've started with Justin guitar and I've learned a couple chords but not sure if to continue with Justin or go with some YouTubers that focus specifically on this type of music. Basically were would you start if you wanted to play something like example should I start learning chords? Music theory? I am excited to learn but completely lost as to how to begin .

Standing and playing the guitar?

Hello everyone,

I have been pretty much playing the guitar with only one pose and that is sitting on a chair or on the couch. When I try standing and playing the guitar it becomes difficult. I want to know what practice methods do people use? What position should you hold your guitar? Thank you!

Believer Guitar Lesson – Ozzy Osbourne – Randy Rhoads

In this Believer guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great Ozzy Osbourne song with the incredible Randy Rhoads on guitar.

The tuning is Eb standard tuning, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.

This transcription is based off of the live version of "Believer" as heard on the Tribute album. So make sure you are referencing that version instead of the original studio version. The Tribute version is the one that is most often requested here at GL365.

Randy plays some great riffs on this one. And as he usually did when playing live, there will be some additional fills thrown in there.

I will cover each section of the song in the order that each appears in the song.

That will include Randy Rhoads' killer guitar solo. I will demonstrate how to play this solo phrase-by-phrase.

I hope you enjoy learning yet another Randy Rhoads era, Ozzy Osbourne classic!
