In this Night Fever guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of the chords to this smash hit by the Bee Gees.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
As I mention in the video lesson, Barry Gibb has a very unique way of playing chords on the guitar that involve throwing it in an open tuning and using simple bar shapes across the fretboard.
Instead of playing those chord voicings, I have instead decided to teach the song in standard tuning using chords that sort of combine the harmony of all of the instruments heard on the record. I think this will more closely resemble the chord voicings heard by the synths, guitars, etc... on the original recording, with the added benefit of keeping the guitar in standard tuning.
There are some great chord progressions in this one with some cool use of chromatic harmony to accompany those incredible vocals.
I will cover each chord progression in the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
Have fun learning this classic from the Bee Gees! Carl...
