Dead & Bloated Guitar Lesson – Stone Temple Pilots

In this guitar lesson video for "Dead & Bloated", I will show you how to play this great song by the Stone Temple Pilots in its entirety.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

The main riff that opens "Dead & Bloated" is quite an unorthodox one. Dean DeLeo and his brother Robert have always had a knack for coming up with unconventional guitar parts that are also very musical. However, this main riff was actually written by Scott Weiland who hummed it to Robert who then worked it out on the guitar.

I will cover each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording. For one section in particular, I will put two guitar parts together so that they can be played on just one guitar, just like Dean DeLeo does live.
