In this guitar lesson video for "Burn It to the Ground" by Nickelback, I will show you how to play this massive hard rock hit note-for-note.
The tuning for "Burn It to the Ground" depends on whether you want to use a seven-string guitar or a six-string guitar. They actually use both on this song. Chad Kroeger is playing a standard tuned seven-string guitar. Those notes are, starting from the 7th string, B E A D G B E. Guitarist Ryan Peake uses a six-string guitar tuned way down to B standard. Those notes will be, starting form the 6th string, B E A D F# B. Whichever you choose, you can still play the whole song on either type of guitar except you will need to make a slight adjustment to the solo if using a six-string. I will be teaching the entire lesson on a seven-string since I will be following what Chad is playing more closely.
This song is quite fun to play. It keep a steady heavy groove throughout. The riffs aren't overly difficult to play but they do move around the fretboard quite a bit.
I will tackle each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
I will also be covering Chad's quick little wah drenched guitar solo.
I hope you guys have fun learning this one! Carl...
