Any tips on relearning strumming to quit syncopating everything?

I learned guitar playing only bluegrass. And as such, syncopation and weird upstrokes are burned into my playing. I'm trying to play more pop/worship related stuff, but even though I haven't played or listened to bluegrass in years, I still annoy anyone who tries to follow my rythm. It's too swingy and shuffly. Any tips or favorite lessons for un-learning bad guitar habits?
