One of the guitar universe's biggest 2019 stories was unquestionably Fender's release of the American Acoustasonic Telecaster

A hybrid acoustic/electric guitar built with a fully hollow Tele body and Fender's Stringed Instrument Resonance System, it immediately turned heads, going on to become one of the year's most talked about - and eventually, acclaimed - guitars. Now, a year later, Fender has followed up on the model with a Stratocaster counterpart.

Like the Acoustasonic Tele, the Acoustasonic Strat features a fully hollow body and the company's Stringed Instrument Resonance System. Its magnetic Acoustasonic Noiseless pickup aims to offer a number of Strat-like tones. It's designed to be used solo, or blended with an acoustic voice to create a unique blend of sounds.

Notably, the Strat offers some all-new acoustic voicings, including short scale and concert body with a slotted headstock. It also packs three unique electric voices on the selector switch.

The guitar is built with a mahogany Strat neck with an ebony fingerboard and thin line body, and is powered by a Fender and Fishman-designed Acoustic Engine, which aims to provide a number of tonewood combinations.

The Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster is available - in Transparent Sonic Blue, Natural, Dakota Red, 3-Color Sunburst and Black finishes - for pre-order now for $1,999.99.
