What sequence to learn guitar in?

I have been playing guitar for around 6 months now. I have learnt the basic open chords and also the barre chords. I try to learn any song that I like mostly the rhythm part but also the lead parts in case they are within my do-ability. What should I learn next? Am I late to learn scales?
