I have been learning and practicing Segovia scales in addition to learning the caged system. I run through the scales, do some rhythm exercises, move through the scales slowly as I say the note out loud, as well as recite using solfege. This month I decided to go deeper. This week has been the Em/G penta pattern and playing chords that fall over the pattern mentioned. My goal is to add a pattern a week in addition to the chords that match the pattern. What other exercises can I add? I have also added C phrygian. I added contrary motion, 3rds, 6th, 8ve., and chord arpeggios, inversions to my scale work. All this has helped out with memorizing the fret and hope to improve even more with the at home isolation. Any suggestions?
