Can Lighter String Gauge Damage Guitar?

I'm a new player, having started as a resolution at the beginning of the year. I had an old acoustic that my local shop restrung with ultra lights (10s) and am also playing an electric that is strung with 9s.

I've really enjoyed playing and, after saving for a few months, decided to upgrade to a Taylor 110e. It's a beautiful guitar and sounds amazing, but after playing on it for a day (it just arrived!), I'm both very slow and in pain.

I checked out their website and it comes strung from the factory with Elixir mediums (13s).

I'm tempted to order lighter strings online and swap these out, but I don't know if that will in any way damage the neck or hugely impact the beautiful tone.

Is my guitar at risk if I switch the strings? If I go from mediums to lights, do I need a set up? Do I suck it up and practice on medium gauge?

I'm comfortable switching strings myself but would need a shop for a set up and we're in quarantine.

Advice is much appreciated!
