Fender has debuted its new Jazz Strat electric guitar.
The first model in the company's Parallel Universe Volume II series, which aims - like the original Parallel Universe series - to create fascinating new guitars by combining classic Fender designs, the Jazz Strat merges the contoured body of a Stratocaster with the neck, vibrato and pickups of a Jazzmaster.
The guitar has an alder body with a lacquer finish, a Medium “C"-shaped maple neck and a 9.5”-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets.
On the sonic front, the Jazz Strat features period-correct American Vintage ‘65 single-coil Jazzmaster pickups on the bridge and neck. These are controlled by master volume - with treble-bleed - and master tone knobs and a 3-position toggle.
Elsewhere, the Jazz Strat is built with a custom Decoboom Streamline Pinstriped pickguard, aluminum radio knobs and Fender ClassicGear tuning machines.
The Fender Jazz Strat guitar is available now - with a deluxe hardshell case - for $1,999.99.
