I've just gotten an electric guitar today (because of UK lockdown) and I've been practicing some open chords and I've learned a simple tune from a Metallica song, but with both I'm having a very hard time fretting properly in order to not mute notes. Almost all of the time my strings get muted or they have a lot of buzz, how would I fix this? I've tried moving my fingers closer to or further from the frets but it varies each time. (if it helps my guitar is an affinity squire strat and I am fourteen years old, and my fingertips are extremely fragile)
