| | Hello, I hope you guys are keeping safe. In this video I use the DADGAD tuning on acoustic guitar to play some fingerstyle noodling. I approach the DADGAD from a “minor” point of view which I explain in the video. This means I don’t go over the classic shapes (you can find plenty of other videos about that). Instead, I show how the DADGAD - playing a sus chord with the open strings - makes possible getting a more dark, melancholic and magic sound noodling around on a minor vibe. In my opinion this unlocks the real potential of this tuning. For a more major sound, I prefer the Open D tuning - which I talked about in a recent video as well. Let me know what you guys think about it and if you’d like to have a full comprehensive lesson on both the major and minor DADGAD approaches, then leave me a comment under the video and I will prepare another video lesson. Here is the full noodling video with the chord shapes: https://youtu.be/bXydkR4ensk Hope you enjoy this video guys and I hope this helps relaxing for a few minutes during this tough time when we’re forced at home. Keep safe everyone. [link] [comments] |
