Practicing guitar with metronome ?

As the title implied.

How do I practice guitar with metronome ?

I have been practicing guitar scales and songs, but not sure how to use metronome when I'm practicing a song.

I'm practicing master of puppets right now, and it seems ridiculous to practice to metronome. Any tips ?
