Trying to better myself at guitar, slowly but surely.
So far im understanding this.
For instance, in C major,
The G shaped pentatonic caged box, you would find that
“I” chord = Cmaj would be a (G shape), and the IV chord = fmaj a (C shape).
Now lets say a song is in G minor, You just start at a different point in the key as it is the relative minor of B flat major scale.
The “I” chord would then become = Gm, which would be in a (Em shape),
In addition, the V chord would be a Dm in a (Bm shape).
My only issues is remembering this stuff (what shapes correspond to what) when I’m playing or freely meandering when a backing track is playing in a certain key etc. Is there any easy way to remember what shape is what? So it makes for arpeggiating easier?
