In this Something To Believe In guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great ballad from Poison in its entirety.
The tuning is Eb standard tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.
First off, I forgot to cover a quick little guitar fill that introduces the guitar chord progressions of the song. This fill occurs at the 48 second mark of the song. All you need to do is a 2-4 hammer-on on the A string, followed by a 2-4 hammer-on on the D string, then a 2-4 hammer-on on the A string again. 🙂
I will cover the chord progression on acoustic guitar even though there are some electric guitars being used in there as well.
I will then switch to an electric and demonstrate all of C.C. Deville's great lead guitar work throughout "Something To Believe In". As I teach each fill, I will call out the minute and second mark of each so that you will know where I am at in the song at all times.
After these fills, I will cover C.C.'s epic main guitar solo note-for-note. This is by far my favorite solo of his as it contains great melodies, unique playing techniques and more. Definitely a classic!
Have fun learning this great ballad from Poison! Carl...
