Very Specific Guitar Strings Problem

I am a beginner just wanted to get that out of the way.

So when I first got my ibanez electric it had some strings (of an unknown gauge) on them. One day my E string broke so I decided to replace all my strings.

The thing is I don’t know the gauge of my new strings either, all I knew is that they were thicker. A few weeks go by and and my bridge was lifting up and it was almost going to pop off it seems. So I take it to the shop and the guy puts in an extra spring in the back of the guitar (originally there was only one).

Now my E string has broken again and I’m going to get new strings and I really don’t like these thicker strings and want to go back to the old original strings.

I wanted to know what gauge the original strings could have been and will there be any issue with the second spring being there?

Blue Christmas Guitar Lesson – Elvis Presley

In this Blue Christmas guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play Elvis Presley's version of this much loved Christmas classic.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

We have a couple of guitar parts for this one, they are played by Elvis and guitarist Scotty Moore.

Elvis held down the harmony foundation while Scotty did most of the fills and more complex chords. What I do in this lesson is sort of put those parts together so that they can be played on one guitar and still sound like the original recording.

I will go through each section of the song in the order that each appeared on the original recording.

Have fun learning this Christmas classic!

What is the proper posture for barre cords / how to keep wrist from getting sore?

I am still a *baby* guitarist, but trying to get the technique down on barre cords. My left writs gets sore super quickly doing so, and I assume this is a posture thing. The whole thing is very hard to hold and feels very awkward. Is this what is going on or is it something else?

I can't really find any videos talking about hold your hand other than the basics of "put ur pointer over the whole neck". Does anyone have a good guide to show how your supposed to hold your left hand in a barre cord?

Waiting For A Girl Like You Guitar Lesson – Foreigner

In this Waiting For A Girl Like You guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great ballad by Foreigner note-for-note on acoustic guitar.

The tuning is standard with a capo placed at the 1st fret. The capo will enable you to play the entire song including the instantly recognizable synth melodies in the original key.

I have arranged the song to be played on just one guitar and I think it works great and isn't overly difficult to play.

I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.

Have fun learning this great song by Foreigner! Carl...
