Electric Vs Acoustic

I am a beginner who has been playing on his brothers inexpensive(less than $200) acoustic. I am going to college soon and have to decide whether to buy electric or acoustic guitar. I enjoy playing the acoustic and I love and want to play country music- but can’t an electric guitar also be used to play country music and it’s easier to play plus there’s so many cool things one can do with it? Also cant an electric guitar be turned to low volume for in dormitory playing to not annoy roommates? I have roughly $400 to buy a guitar and can’t decide what to buy- any suggestions on what to buy? Thanks

F the F Chord

Kind of a rant, but mostly just reaching out for pointers. F Chord is kicking my ass right now, and it's causing me a lot of unnecessary frustration. Yeah, I know it's kinda universal it's called the "F" chord for a reason, which is why I was expecting this, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the barre right unless I'm pressing UNGODLY hard on the first fret. Obviously, you don't wanna do that, but I can't figure out how to make it work with a lighter touch. On top of that, when I push harder with my first finger, it makes all the others follow suit, which of course makes it incredibly uncomfortable, and sometimes a finger or two collapses onto another string. I just can't wrap my head around how anyone can perform this without a pretty solid death grip on the neck, which is exactly why I feel like there's something I'm missing with it. Any advice?

Holding guitar

So when I hold the guitar I have watched videos on how to do it correctly but it seems like my strumming hand is always uncomfortable. Like ...
