In this Lesson we’re going to take a look at a beginner level Tore Down Eric Clapton style solo. This tune off From the Cradle was one of my all time favorite shuffle blues tunes to learn and is a good one to know if you ever go to blues jams. I tried to create a solo that has the vibe from this album but is a bit restrained so the beginner level blues player could learn it.
In this Raise Your Hands guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this fun guitar driven song off of Bon Jovi's massively successful Slippery When Wet album note-for-note.
Richie Sambora laid down some challenging guitar riffs and an absolutely amazing solo in this one.
I will cover all of the guitar parts in the order that each appears on the original recording.
From opening driving 16th note main riff to Richie's gymnastic guitar solo, it is all here for you to dive into.
Have fun with this one. It is kinda hard not to! Carl...

In this guitar lesson video for I Stand Alone, I will show you how to play this smash hit by Godsmack note-for-note.
The tuning is drop C tuning. That is, starting from the sixth string C G C F A D.
We will start the lesson with that instantly recognizable guitar riff then go through the entire song from there covering everything in the order it appears on the original recording.
"I Stand Alone" is pretty easy to play after you get the rhythm of the main riff down, which can be a little tricky along with it being played in probably the hardest part of the fretboard to navigate. It is also tons of fun to play because it simply rocks.
Have fun! Carl...

In this guitar lesson video for "The Seventh Seal", I will show you how to play this great Van Halen song off of their Balance album note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
"The Seventh Seal" has some very cool riffs, especially the main riff in which Eddie creates an otherworldly effect by employing power chords and open string drones along with a very unique and highly original guitar tone.
I will cover each riff of the the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
There is no solo in this one, which is rare in the Van Halen catalog. But because of that, it also makes this song one of the more accessible Van Halen songs for the intermediate player.
Have fun learning some great stuff from King Eddie! Carl...

In this Love You to Death guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song by Type O Negative note-for-note.
The tuning is B standard tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, B E A D F# B.
Type O Negative has long been one of my favorite bands and the album October Rust, which this song opens, is a top 5 favorite album for me. It is really cool to finally be able to bring some of their music to you guys.
I will go through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
I will let you know along the way what guitar part was played by guitarist Kenny Hickey when playing live. For a lot of the song, there are actually two guitar parts to learn however live, Peter Steele could carry the rhythm with his heavy distorted bass tone. However, we will cover all of the guitar parts in the video lesson so if you have another guitarist to jam with that would be ideal.
I hope you enjoy learning this great song. Check out the rest of the album if you haven't already!
R.I.P. Peter Steele! Carl...
