Take Me To The Top Guitar Lesson – Motley Crue

In this Take Me To The Top Guitar Lesson video, I will show you how to play this early Motley Crue classic in it's entirety.

The tuning is D standard, which means you tune every string down a whole-step from standard. Those notes are, starting from the 6th string, D G C F A D.

There are some really cool riffs in this one! And as always with a lot of Mick Mars' riffs, they can sometimes be a little tricky to play.

The main riff that opens the song and also is the chorus, uses basic power chords and a minor 3rd interval, ending with a quick hammer-on lick. Getting the timing of the hammer-on lick might take a little practice.

The other riffs include the use of harmonics and heavy palm muting.

Mick Mars' solo will also be covered in-depth. This solo contains everything from bar dives to arabic style melodies and even a section that has multiple guitars soloing at the same time! It is great fun to play once you get it under your fingers.

I hope you guys enjoy learning this Motley Crue classic!
