The G Major 7 Guitar Chord (also known as G Major Seventh, GMaj7 or G Major 7th), like the other Major Seventh Chords, is a beautiful dreamy sounding chord, but is a bit more challenging to play when compared to the other Major 7 chords. It is going to take a bit of practice to […]
In this Space Age Love Song guitar lesson, I will show you how to play this amazing song from A Flock Of Seagulls note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
Guitarist Paul Reynolds creates such great atmospheric guitar parts that always fit the song perfectly. In the case of "Space Age Love Song", he uses a dotted 8th note delay to help him propel the energy of the music forward.
He then kicks in a little bit of gain and plays simple triad shapes arpeggiated in descending fashion that seem to just soar over the music. Very very cool stuff.
I will take you through the entire song in the order that each section appears on the original recording. There are a couple of variations thrown in there so don't skip any sections!
Have fun learning this great 80's classic! Carl...

Space Age Love Song Guitar Lesson - A Flock Of Seagulls
In this Nobody's Fool guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this smash-hit ballad by Cinderella in its entirety.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
This is just such a great song (written by Tom Keifer), and it has an excellent main riff and some great soloing by Keifer and Jeff LaBar.
I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
For some of the riffs, Tom and Jeff will be playing separate guitar parts and each of those will be covered.
We also have a few solos to contend with including Jeff LaBar's first solo that can be heard after the first chorus, and the main solo section which starts with Tom Keifer soloing over the entire main riff played one time through followed by Jeff LaBar's turn over the same riff. The solo section ends with some quick harmony guitar lines of which I will just cover the main harmony line.
At the end of the song, Tom Keifer plays an excellent outro solo of which I will also cover note-for-note.
"Nobody's Fool" is pretty much the ultimate 80's ballad with great melodies, riffs and solos.
I hope you guys enjoy learning it as much as I enjoyed working it out for ya! 🙂
I'm new to guitar (but have piano experience) and I'm wondering what key scale would be easiest for me to learn first (with regards to the fingering and number of open strings). I want to learn all the basic chords in one scale so I can play different progressions. Thanks!
The Asus4 (A sus 4, A suspended 4) Guitar Chord is definitely one of the easier basic beginner chords to learn how to play. There are several different ways to play it, but I will demonstrate the easiest way in the following post. The ASuS4 Chord is found by locating the 1, 4 and 5 […]
In this All The Small Things guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song from blink-182 in it's entirety.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
There are a few sections of the song that Tom DeLonge has two guitar parts played together. I will demonstrate both of those parts but also show you which one Tom plays live when a second guitarist isn't available.
Nothing very challenging in this one, so I think "All The Small Things" is a great song for just about any guitarist to try. Great fun to play as well!
Have fun with this blink-182 classic! Carl...

I put 10s on mine and it had a hybrid with lower guage strings before, now the floating bridge is coming up at an angle when it’s tuned. Should I just go back to the standard size for the guitar or have a tech fix the setup so the bridge is where it should be? I’m not playing for now, I could damage something. I’m not tech savvy with guitars, so I don’t think fixing it myself is an option. I like the feel of heavy strings, so I’d rather keep it, but if it’s crazy spends, I’ll go back to the standard.
In this Lick It Up guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this hit song from KISS note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
"Lick It Up" is a pretty simple song that would be great for just about any level of guitar player to try. The riffs may be relatively easy to play, but they are still quite catchy.
I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.

Parent here asking for my daughter. She's been learning acoustic on a 3/4 for about a year and has started taking lessons at school of rock. Seems like time to add an electric and consensus on this subreddit seems to be Squier Statocasters. I'll take any purchase advice but I'm specifically wondering about sizing. Stick with 3/4 or just go full since she's growing. Will that throw her off? Thanks in advance!
Recently I wanted to improve the AB looping feature on the site for all the videos in the All Access Pass that don’t use the Soundslice player, so I decided to completely revamp how that works with the help of a developer.
The new way to me is far more intuitive as you just need to click or tap the buttons to start the in and out set points instead of dragging the points on the timeline. This way makes it much easier to loop any section you want quickly.
In this Maniac guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this smash hit from Michael Sembello in its entirety.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
We are obviously dealing with a synth driven song here, but those synth riffs make for some great guitar riffs as well. This whole song translates very well to the guitar and is a lot of fun to play.
Besides all of the synth to guitar transcriptions I will be demonstrating in this lesson, I will also cover Michael Sembello's amazing guitar solo note-for-note.
This solo employs some very melodic playing along with some flashy and unorthodox tapping licks. It is one of those solos that is instantly recognizable along with the opening keyboard riff.
I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
Have fun learning this rock guitar arrangement of this Michael Sembello 80's classic! Carl...
