new guitar

i just bought a cheap electric guitar off amazon, just to learn to play and see if i enjoy it. i just tuned it and the top E string is like hitting the neck of the guitar and making an awful noise. like its too loose but the app im using said its in tune so when i tighten it its just out of tune, help. is there something i can do to fix it or is it just because its a cheap guitar?

What is the importance of learning Triads?

I'm a relatively intermediate player now aiming to genuinely improve my theory knowledge and get better as opposed to my playing in the past which has mostly been about having a bit of fun and learning songs.

I've been following some progression guide videos on YouTube and determined the sort of level I'm at - I'm very comfortable with barre chords for example. But I'm definitely more knowledgeable when it comes to lead than rhythm. I know all 5 pentatonic shapes to a good standard and can do a decent improv over a backing track, but now what I want to progress to is where I can make my own backing tracks without much thought on my looper.

Now, with that context, here's the root of my question, Based on these videos, high level players always put a huge deal of importance on learning triad shapes across the fretboard, which is what I'm aiming to achieve, but I'm just wondering what about triads are so crucial, I can play barre chords rooted on E and A so that covers most chords that I need - so why are triads so special?

I think knowing why better players than myself love triads so much will help me to learn it, because I know exactly how it's gonna improve my playing.

Thanks!

Where to start?

As it states I'm pretty new to guitar and I have no idea where to start. I dont want to have to get an instructor as my only vehicle is my work truck at the moment and instructors csn be expensive. I hear people often say youtube but they never tell me anything specific and I feel like simply looking up "how to play guitar" is a fools errand. I've experimented a little bit with yousician but can anybody speak from experience on if its actually a viable way to learn? Really lost here and could use some help, I'd love to be able to just casually play simple rythyms and riffs just to goof off Tenacious D style

Any advice?

Any advice?

Been playing for 5 years. Never took lessons but learned some songs and theory. I know a few scales and how chords are built on them and how I can improvise within that scale and I've developed some feel. But I don't know the notes I'm playing really, besides from the obvious open chords in the beginning. Solo is fairly improvised. I don't have a method for learning really, I feel like I have the potential to get a lot better if I trained right. Just want some advice!
